Nothing screams fiscal responsibility quite like blowing your company's entire life savings on a virtual forklift simulator. Released in 1999 for the Dreamcast, Shenmue was supposed to revolutionize gaming with realistic weather and fully voiced NPCs. Unsurprisingly, it massively contributed to Sega leaving the console market.
