The absolute mastermind of Neoplatonism had terrible eyesight and completely refused to review his own wildly complex manuscripts. It was left to his intensely stressed pupil, Porphyry, to take a massive pile of disjointed, chaotic philosophical ramblings and heavily edit them into a readable format called the Enneads. Without an incredibly patient editor, the foundation of Western mysticism would just be illegible scribbles.
