Early coffee drinkers made caffeinated fat balls

HERE’S THE INTERESTING PART

Before complicated espresso machines, ancient baristas used a much meatier brewing method. The earliest recorded consumers of coffee in East Africa didn't roast and drink the beans. Instead, they crushed raw coffee cherries and aggressively mixed them with thick, rendered animal fat to create dense, caffeinated protein balls. It was essentially the historical equivalent of a highly aggressive pre-workout snack.
