One of the most iconic female superheroes of all time almost didn't exist. Marvel initially planned a male character named 'Typhoon' who could control the weather. They realized they had way too many dudes on the roster, swapped the gender, threw in some visual elements from another unused cat-themed character, and accidentally created a legend.
