Since the Vatican is basically a tiny walled fortress and the Pope is not exactly known for drag racing through St. Peter's Square, he politely declined to keep the million-dollar vehicle. Instead, he requested that Ferrari sell it on his behalf and donate the proceeds to victims of a devastating tsunami. It is honestly a massive shame we never got to see the Supreme Pontiff doing donuts in a red sports car powered by a naturally aspirated twelve-cylinder engine, but selling it for charity was probably the more spiritually sound decision. The car later auctioned for over six million dollars, proving that papal provenance adds one hell of a markup to the secondary automotive market
