You don't actually need to show the monster to make a monster movie legendary. Despite being universally praised as a groundbreaking achievement in CGI and animatronics, Steven Spielberg's prehistoric masterpiece is surprisingly light on the prehistoric part. Out of a runtime of 127 minutes, the dinosaurs are only on screen for about 15. The rest is just actors screaming at rattling water cups and Jeff Goldblum aggressively unbuttoning his shirt.
