The Mandela Effect hits the gaming community hard. For decades, players believed a 'stack underflow' bug in the original 1991 Civilization caused the peaceful Mahatma Gandhi to instantly become an apocalyptic nuclear warmonger if his aggression stat dropped below zero. Sid Meier himself later confirmed this coding error never existed. The internet literally just made the joke up, repeated it enough times to make it 'fact,' and eventually forced developers to add it to later games on purpose.
