Carrying coffins backward confuses returning ghosts

The undead are terrifying, but incredibly bad at basic navigation. A strict rule dictated that a deceased person must be carried out of their residence feet first. If carried head first, it was feared the corpse would 'look back' and somehow beckon another household member to follow them into the great beyond. Pointing their toes effectively broke their line of sight.
