Disney once threatened daycares over Mickey murals
Nothing screams 'family magic' like sending corporate lawyers to crush toddlers. In 1989, The Walt Disney Company famously threatened legal action against three local Florida daycare centers for having unauthorized, hand-painted murals of Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck on their walls. In a brilliant PR move, Universal Studios immediately swooped in and painted Yogi Bear for them for free.
