Achieving ultimate spiritual perfection is essentially a very aggressive color-by-numbers project. The 'Great Work' of alchemy must proceed exactly through black, white, yellow, and red stages. You cannot skip a color, and if you mess up the yellow phase, you have to start all over at black. It ensures that the path to enlightenment is rigidly categorized by a highly specific interior design palette.
