Rapper Ice Cube famously coined the phrase 'It's on like Donkey Kong' in his 1992 track 'Now I Gotta Wet'cha.' Nineteen years later, Nintendo realized people were still saying it and boldly swooped in to officially trademark the phrase for their marketing campaigns, successfully stealing back their own ape's clout.
