The majestic chicken truly is the pinnacle of aerodynamic failure. Despite having wings and technically being birds, chickens are biologically built for short bursts of frantic flapping to escape predators, not for sustained cruising. The longest scientifically recorded continuous flight of a chicken maxed out at just thirteen seconds, covering a whopping three hundred feet. So while humanity managed to put a metal tube on the moon, our feathered agricultural staple is still struggling to clear a moderately sized driveway.
