Symmetrical encryption uses identical locking keys

It's the digital equivalent of hiding the key under the doormat. Symmetrical encryption uses the exact same cryptographic key to both scramble and unscramble data. It is incredibly fast and efficient, but it comes with a glaring flaw: both the sender and receiver must find a perfectly secure way to share this single master key without it being intercepted.
