Imagine a padlock anyone can snap shut, but only you hold the key to open. Asymmetrical encryption uses two mathematically linked keys. You freely distribute your public key so anyone can encrypt a message aimed at you. However, the decryption requires your private key, which strictly remains on your device, entirely eliminating the risk of a shared key being stolen.
