Why hockey pucks are kept in a freezer

Because gliding around on blades while slapping a piece of vulcanized rubber is not chaotic enough, officials ensure the puck is literally freezing. Pucks are kept in coolers at around fourteen degrees Fahrenheit to stop them from bouncing like rubber balls on the ice. A warm puck tends to flip unpredictably, which is heavily frowned upon when heavily padded giants are swinging sticks at it.
