Why a Fast Bird Makes a Difficult Mount
A race on an enormous bird turns speed into only half the challenge. The rider must also keep an animal-like mount under control, so pushing hard can make the ride harder to manage. That creates a different problem from steering a car: the player is not simply choosing a line through the course but trying to stay aboard a creature that may not cooperate.
The Fall Is Part of the Race
Tumbling off or getting pecked makes failed control visible and costly. Instead of a missed turn producing only a slower time, the mount itself becomes a source of danger. The rider has to weigh aggressive progress against the chance of losing control and being thrown out of the race.
That tension gives the spectacle a playable purpose. The giant bird is not just a funny vehicle; its unruliness is the obstacle. Going faster matters only if the rider can remain in the saddle.
