During the intense moments when hundreds of extras were flailing around and screaming for their lives in the freezing dark, most of them could have simply stood up and walked to the craft services table if they wanted to. To make matters worse, Cameron strictly regulated bathroom breaks to maintain the grueling production schedule, meaning that giant multimillion-dollar shallow pool basically became a massive toilet for a couple of hundred very cold and annoyed background actors.
