Blobfish only look ugly after surfacing

HERE’S THE INTERESTING PART

We brutally ripped this fish from its cozy, pressurized home and then bullied it for being ugly. The blobfish lacks a swim bladder and rigid bones, relying entirely on gelatinous flesh that is slightly less dense than water to hover near the ocean floor. When dragged up to the surface, the sudden lack of intense atmospheric pressure causes their soft tissue to violently expand into the iconic sad puddle.
