In Metal Gear Solid, the telepathic boss Psycho Mantis would read the actual save files on your physical PS1 memory card. If you had saves from Castlevania or Suikoden, he would loudly proclaim your love for those games through the TV, terrifying thousands of teenagers in 1998.
