What happens when the product is mixed
“Miracle Mineral Solution” is typically a sodium chlorite product that is activated by adding an acid. The reaction produces chlorine dioxide, a powerful oxidizing chemical: it reacts readily with other substances, which is why it can be used as a disinfectant or bleaching agent. That usefulness outside the body does not make it safe to swallow. In the digestive tract, the chemical can damage the tissues it contacts instead of selectively attacking a disease.
Why the harm can spread
The stomach and intestines are living tissue, not surfaces that can be disinfected without consequence. Irritation and injury can trigger severe vomiting and damage the intestinal lining. If enough chemical is absorbed, it can also interfere with organs such as the liver. The outcome depends on factors including how much is swallowed, but serious poisoning can require urgent medical care.
Claims that the drink cures disease do not alter this chemical process. A label or a name suggesting a “solution” is not evidence that a substance is a medicine; the relevant question is what it does to the body. With chlorine dioxide, the same reactivity that makes it useful for disinfection can make swallowing it dangerous.
A dangerous confusion
