In the 1920s, John R. Brinkley built a massive empire convincing desperate, aging men that he could restore their lost virility. His groundbreaking medical technique? Slicing open a live goat, taking its testicles, and surgically shoving them straight into the patient's scrotum. Brinkley wasn't a real doctor, the procedure was a deadly, unsterile butchery, and xenotransplanting goat gonads definitely does not cure erectile dysfunction. But thanks to his slick marketing on his own border-blaster radio station, he made millions off the sheer gullibility of men terrified of getting old.
