Bangkok holds the official Guinness World Record for having the longest name of any city in the world, consisting of one hundred and sixty-eight letters when written out in its full ceremonial form. It translates to an incredibly pretentious list of titles like the city of angels, the great city of immortals, and the seat of the king, completely ignoring the fact that it is now mostly known for crushing gridlock traffic and overwhelming humidity. It is absolutely hilarious that a modern metropolis famous for cheap backpacker hostels and chaotic street food vendors officially carries a majestic, deeply mythological title that sounds like it was ripped straight out of a fantasy novel just to impress visiting diplomats who cannot even pronounce it
