A closer look
You might think animation requires thousands of intricate digital drawings, but Aleksandra Korejwo simply looked at a pile of table salt and decided she could do better. Collaborating with Miyu Productions, she utilized a painstakingly bizarre technique of manipulating dyed salt on a backlit glass plate using the rigid feathers of a condor. Because salt doesn't exactly stay put, every single frame of her breathtaking classical music animations had to be captured immediately before the composition inevitably blew away. It's a gorgeous artistic triumph that sounds suspiciously like a stress-induced fever dream.
