P.D. Ouspensky was a brilliant Russian mathematician who became so incredibly frustrated with his eccentric mystic guru that he stormed off to start his own identical, highly rivalrous spiritual cult. He initially worshipped George Gurdjieff, but eventually got tired of the constant emotional abuse, the weird manual labor, and being forced to watch his teacher eat absolutely staggering amounts of spicy food. Instead of abandoning the bizarre teachings altogether, Ouspensky just moved to London and started teaching the exact same mystical system, only with significantly less shouting and a strict dress code. He essentially created the corporate, deeply sanitized version of his master's wild esoteric philosophy, trading the chaotic midnight dances for polite afternoon lectures over a nice cup of tea. It perfectly proves that even the most profound seekers of hidden cosmic truths are absolutely not immune to standard workplace drama and petty, passive-aggressive middle management disputes
