Ancient civilizations apparently spent decades painstakingly digging massive monkey and spider shapes into the dirt just so wealthy tourists in tiny Cessnas could marvel at them centuries later. The Nazca Lines were created over two thousand years ago, and nobody knows exactly why they designed artwork that they themselves could barely see. It was either for the gods, or deeply committed ancient aliens.
