Bluetooth is notoriously terrible at telling you exactly where your lost wallet is, mostly just guessing based on signal strength. Apple’s U1 chip upgrades this using Ultra-Wideband (UWB) technology. Instead of relying on signal volume, UWB shoots billions of radio pulses a second and measures their exact 'time of flight' at the speed of light. This allows your phone to pinpoint a localized beacon down to the centimeter, giving you an exact directional arrow straight to your keys.
