How Velcro gets its tiny hooks

HERE’S THE INTERESTING PART

That iconic ripping sound is just microscopic violence. Hook-and-loop tape is manufactured by weaving massive fields of tiny plastic loops, and then aggressively slicing the tops off exactly half of them with a hot blade, creating the rigid hooks that aggressively snag onto the remaining intact loops.
