Those expensive wrapping machines at transit hubs do not use any sort of magical ballistic polymer. They literally just spin your suitcase in heavy-duty stretch wrap, identical to the stuff used on shipping pallets in warehouses. It prevents zipper blowouts and deters tampering, but mostly just guarantees you will spend twenty minutes hacking at it with a tiny key later.
