If you look closely at the sleek, futuristic comlink Liam Neeson dramatically talks into during 'The Phantom Menace', it's literally just a painted resin mold of a Gillette Sensor Excel razor for women. George Lucas essentially handed a Jedi Master a shaving tool and told him to treat it like a crucial piece of high-tech alien machinery.
