When the protagonist aggressively rips open a dusty journal to find the crucial clue, only the exact page the camera sees actually makes any sense. The rest of the intricately bound book is entirely meaningless. Prop makers typically write one legible paragraph and then frantically copy-paste absolute gibberish or ancient public-domain poetry to fill the remaining three hundred pages of the binding.
