At Renaissance fairs, even staff stay in character
Taking a smoke break while dressed as an Elizabethan peasant is heavily monitored. Even when hiding behind a medieval tent to eat a very modern granola bar, staff are usually contractually obligated to speak in an absurd archaic dialect just in case a stray tourist wanders past. There is absolutely no escaping the aggressive whimsy of the realm.
