Bringing a portable rain shield into the stands seems like basic survival logic, but organizers violently reject them at the gates. Aside from aggressively blocking the sightlines of every single person sitting behind you, the metal spokes are legally classified as dangerous projectiles in a chaotic crowd. The owners would much rather let thousands of people sit completely soaked in the freezing rain than face a single lawsuit because someone got poked in the eye during a celebration.
