A five-mile-per-hour drive wrecked Ohio's first car
Humanity's relationship with horrible driving started shockingly early. John Lambert created a gasoline-powered buggy and took it for a spin with a friend. While blazing along at a terrifying five miles per hour, they hit a protruding tree root, bounced into a hitching post, and got thrown onto the dirt. Miraculously they survived, but the car was completely totaled.
