Say's Law operates on the wildly optimistic premise that just producing a good inherently generates enough wealth in the system to buy that good. According to this classical fever dream, overproduction is essentially impossible because the act of manufacturing pays the workers exactly enough to clear the shelves. Reality often begs to differ.
