Who needs a coherent narrative when you have nitrous oxide and the concept of 'family'? Because the release dates for these blockbuster behemoths are locked in years in advance, the production crew frequently films massive, multi-million dollar car stunts completely devoid of context. The screenwriters are then forced to frantically invent a chaotic storyline that somehow connects a submarine explosion to a street race in Tokyo. It's reverse-engineering cinematic garbage at its finest.
