Because the release dates for these blockbuster behemoths are locked in years in advance, the production crew frequently films massive, multi-million dollar car stunts completely devoid of context. The screenwriters are then forced to frantically invent a chaotic storyline that somehow connects a submarine explosion to a street race in Tokyo. It's reverse-engineering cinematic garbage at its finest.
