Books like the 'Pseudomonarchia Daemonum' meticulously listed the names, ranks, and exact legions of hundreds of demons, acting like a Pokédex for Hell. Monks supposedly wrote them to recognize evil, but they definitely just enjoyed the fan-fiction.
