How Voyager found its way across the solar system
Navigating a probe across the entire solar system apparently does not require supercomputers. The initial gravity-assist trajectories that slung these famous probes from planet to planet were plotted using rudimentary equations by mathematicians wielding simple pencils. They essentially played an interplanetary game of billiards using nothing but chalkboards and sheer confidence.
