A closer look
Waiting in a claustrophobic line is usually an exercise in sheer human misery, unless Walt Disney Imagineering is psychologically manipulating you into enjoying it. Knowing the ride's capacity would inevitably lead to torturous wait times, designers effectively built a secondary attraction out of the line itself. They handed out "Mara decoder cards" so guests could translate fake hieroglyphics and installed "Do Not Pull" ropes that dropped ceiling elements on unsuspecting tourists. It is a masterclass in distract-and-delay tactics, proving you can make people wait anywhere if you give them a toy.
