When you are a 'holy man' deeply addicted to heavy drinking and wild parties, you need a solid recovery plan. Grigori Rasputin would allegedly plunge himself into the freezing waters of the Siberian rivers to physically shock his system out of a massive hangover. It was less of a mystical purification ritual and more of a desperate attempt to look sober before meeting the Tsar of Russia.
