Why passenger planes don’t hand out parachutes

HERE’S THE INTERESTING PART

People love to complain about a lack of parachutes on planes, failing to realize human limitations. If a jet is cruising at 35,000 feet at 500 mph, trying to open a pressurized door against the atmosphere is literally impossible. Even if you got out, the freezing temperatures and lack of oxygen would instantly kill you before you ever got to pull the ripcord.
