Decades before modern 4D cinema, eccentric Spanish filmmaker Val del Omar believed audiences were too passive and needed to be physically jolted. He invented 'tactile vision,' an expanded cinema system that blasted the audience with external strobe lights and pumped aggressive, specific odors into the theater during screenings. He didn't just want you to watch his films; he wanted to induce a completely immersive, multi-sensory panic attack.
