Framing effect is a cognitive bias where people decide on options based strictly on whether the options are presented with positive or negative connotations, such as a loss or a gain; you will happily and confidently buy a highly processed food product that boldly claims to be ninety percent fat-free, but you would be absolutely disgusted and refuse to eat it if the label honestly declared that it contained ten percent pure fat, even though it is the exact same nutritional reality, because our easily manipulated primate brains are entirely at the mercy of basic wordplay and slick marketing spin, proving reality does not actually matter in human decision making as long as you wrap the terrifying truth in optimistic adjectives
