The animated sitcom about a deeply dysfunctional Rhode Island family was notoriously resurrected purely because college students kept buying the boxed sets at electronics stores. It is one of the rare instances where aggressive consumer spending literally bullied a multi-billion dollar television network into admitting they made a terrible mistake. Of course, the show then proceeded to run for another two decades, slowly deteriorating in quality until it became nothing more than a vehicle for cutaway gags and background noise.
