A closer look
Mother Nature spent an estimated six million years carving a majestic, mile-deep gorge through the Earth's crust, but capitalism decided it needed a gimmick. While the canyon itself offers unfathomable natural beauty, a massive steel-and-glass horseshoe skywalk was built jutting out over the edge to charge tourists exorbitant fees. It proves that humanity cannot appreciate an ancient geological wonder unless they can pay fifty bucks to experience localized vertigo.
