Why Naruto traded goggles for a headband

The deep, symbolic village headbands that define the entire ninja aesthetic of Naruto were born out of pure laziness. Creator Masashi Kishimoto originally gave Naruto a pair of complicated goggles. After realizing how incredibly annoying and time-consuming it was to draw the goggles in every single panel, he swapped them for a simple piece of cloth.
