Halloween production designer Tommy Lee Wallace created the terrifying Michael Myers mask by purchasing a two-dollar Captain James T Kirk mask from a magic shop and spray-painting it dead white. He ripped off the sideburns, widened the eye holes, and inadvertently turned William Shatner's stoic face into the ultimate symbol of slasher movie dread. Knowing that the relentless, unstoppable embodiment of pure evil haunting Haddonfield is literally just the captain of the Starship Enterprise having a really bad skin day completely ruins the scare factor in the absolute best way possible
