The Alien costume that used part of a human skull

Swiss artist HR Giger decided that regular foam and plastic props just weren't nightmare-inducing enough, so he raided a medical supplier. The terrifying front dome of the original Xenomorph costume's elongated face was literally constructed by sawing an actual human skull in half and casting it right into the alien's visage.
