Orson Welles kept outgrowing his movie costumes

The legendary director of Citizen Kane had an appetite that rivaled a small medieval army. During his later acting years, Welles consumed so many hot dogs, steaks, and bottles of wine on set that his physical circumference would visibly change from week to week. The wardrobe department practically unionized against him as they frantically let out his seams just to keep him clothed on camera.
