The kings of plastic toys started off literally selling scraps. The Hassenfeld Brothers founded Hasbro to sell textile offcuts and hat linings. They eventually moved to pencil boxes, and only after realizing kids liked the pencils more than the boxes did they pivot to the multi-billion dollar toy empire they are today.
