Daniel Craig literally had two of his front teeth smashed out of his skull during his very first major stunt sequence while filming Casino Royale in two thousand and six. The production was determined to reboot the tired James Bond franchise with an intensely gritty, realistic tone, and they definitely achieved that when a burly stuntman accidentally clocked the newly minted 007 squarely in the mouth during an elaborate fight scene in Prague. Instead of shutting down the massively expensive production for weeks to let their leading man recover, the studio emergency-flown a specialized dentist from London to painstakingly rebuild his famous smile right there on the set. It was a brutally authentic way to introduce the world to a much darker iteration of the iconic British spy, proving to cynical audiences everywhere that this new Bond was not just going to rely on silly invisible cars and exploding pens, but was entirely willing to sacrifice his actual dental health for our cinematic entertainment
